(A) Any person may possess all or any part of a cervidae carcass legally taken, killed or processed in Ohio.
(B) Any person may possess all or any part of a cervidae carcass taken or processed from areas listed in paragraph (D) of this rule provided the carcass consists only of any of the following:
(1) De-boned meat;
(2) Meat that is cut and securely and completely wrapped either commercially or privately with no part of the spinal column or head attached;
(3) Quarters or other portions of meat with no part of the spinal column or head attached;
(4) Antlers;
(5) Antlers attached to a skull cap from which all soft tissue has been removed;
(6) Upper canine teeth from which all soft tissue has been removed;
(7) Hides and capes without any part of the head or lymph nodes attached;
(8) Finished taxidermy mounts;
(9) Any soft body tissue wrapped and packaged for use by a diagnostic research laboratory.
(C) Any person may transport any cervidae carcass or part of cervidae carcass legally taken or processed from areas listed in paragraph (D) of this rule through Ohio provided the carcass or parts thereof is not off-loaded from the vehicle in which it entered the state.
(D) The following areas are where chronic wasting disease has been detected in the United States and Canada;
(1) Alberta wildlife management unit 150, 151, 163, 234, 236, and 256.
(2) Colorado all counties.
(3) Illinois counties of Winnebago, Boone, Dekalb, LaSalle, McHenry, Stephenson and Ogle.
(4) Kansas, Cheyenne and Decatur counties.
(5) Michigan, Kent county.
(6) Nebraska counties of Arthur, Banner, Box Butte, Cherry, Cheyenne, Dawes, Deuel, Grant, Garden, Hall, Keith, Kimball, Morrill, Red Willow, Sioux, Scotts Bluff, and Sheridan.
(7) New Mexico counties of Dona Ana, Otero, and Socorro.
(8) New York, Oneida county.
(9) Saskatchewan wildlife management zones and/or herd reduction areas 10, 11, 14, 24, 25, 43, 46, 47, 50, and 68 south.
(10) South Dakota counties of Fall River, Custer, Pennington and Lawrence.
(11) West Virginia, Hampshire county.
(12) Wisconsin counties of Columbia, Dane, Grant, Green, Iowa, Jefferson, Kenosha, Lafayette, Richland, Rock, Sauk, and Walworth. Also including any deer registered with a Wisconsin DNR red registration tag from the areas designated as the disease eradication zone.
(13) Wyoming all counties.
(14) Utah counties of Daggett, Grand, San Juan, Sanpete, and Uintah.
(E) All definitions set forth in rule 1501:31-1-02 of the Administrative Code shall apply to this rule.
