Rule 1501:31-27-01 | Exemption requirements.

 

(A) In accordance with section 1533.12 of the Revised Code, all persons exempt from purchasing a fishing or hunting license; deer, turkey, or trapping permit; or wetlands habitat stamp shall annually apply for a free fishing or hunting license; deer, turkey, or trapping permit; or wetlands habitat stamp on an official application form provided by the chief of the division of wildlife.

(B) Each person who is a resident of Ohio that possesses an honorable discharge from the armed forces that has been declared a prisoner of war by the armed forces of the United States and/or has a disability that has been determined by the veterans' administration to be permanently and totally disabling, who receives a pension or compensation from the veterans' administration and every veteran to whom the registrar of motor vehicles has issued a set of license plates under section 4503.41 of the Revised Code, shall obtain certification from the veterans' administration which indicates name, address and file number of such person. Said certification shall be submitted in addition to his/her application as provided in paragraph (A) of this rule.

(C) Each qualified resident of Ohio who applies for said licenses shall be issued a free license, permit, and/or stamp in accordance with section 1533.12 of the Revised Code.

(D) Each person who receives licenses, permits, and/or stamps in accordance with section 1533.12 of the Revised Code shall comply with all laws, rules, and regulations of the Revised Code and Administrative Code concerning the carrying, exhibiting, and displaying of licenses, and the taking or possessing of wild animals.

(E) Each Ohio resident, sixty-five years of age or older, who was issued a permanent hunting license prior to September 1, 1987, is exempt from obtaining an annual hunting license. However, such persons must annually apply for a free deer permit, turkey permit, trapping permit, and/or wetlands habitat stamp in accordance with section 1533.12 of the Revised Code.

(F) The provisions of section 2921.13 of the Revised Code apply to falsification of any information required on the application for a free hunting or fishing license; deer, or trapping permit; or wetlands habitat stamp.

(G) All definitions set forth in section 1531.01 of the Revised Code shall apply to this rule.
