(A) "Approval to operate" - a letter from the Ohio department of education to a nonpublic school indicating that the school has complied with this rule and is in the process of complying with the operating standards for Ohio's schools in order to obtain a charter.
(B) "Charter" - that document issued by the state board of education to a school or school district pursuant to section 3301.16 of the Revised Code.
(C) "Department" - the Ohio department of education.
(D) "Operating standards for Ohio's districts and schools" - those rules contained within Chapter 3301-35 of the Administrative Code as promulgated by the state board of education pursuant to division (D) of section 3301.07 of the Revised Code.
(E) "Nonpublic school" - any school, other than a public school, providing instruction for pupils of compulsory school age.
