Chapter 3354:2-46 Policies on Instructional Calendar, Transfer of Credit and Appeals

3354:2-46-01 Instructional calendar policy.

Lakeland community college operates according to a semester system. The fall and spring semesters consist of sixteen weeks, with the. sixteenth week designated as finals week. The academic year calendar and the summer calendar are approved by the board of trustees.

3354:2-46-15 Transfer of credit Policy.

Lakeland community college will grant students transfer credit for courses completed at other colleges and universities according to criteria specified by administrative academic procedures. To be recognized, transfer credit for courses must be earned at an institution which is accredited by an accrediting agency that is recognized by the council for higher education accreditation (CHEA) or by the U.S. department of education. For a foreign institution, the institution is recognized by CHEA or a government or nongovernmental agency which is responsible for quality review of higher education institutions in that country.

3354:2-46-16 Transfer appeal policy.

Lakeland community College is in compliance with the Ohio articulation and transfer policy which was established by the state of Ohio through the Ohio board of regents to expedite the transfer of credits between and among public institutions of higher education. All students who believe they have a legitimate reason for protesting the award of transfer and/or military experience credit may appeal the decision internally according to college procedures and externally according to state guidelines.
