3701:1-67-08 Shielding and safety design requirements.

(A) Therapy equipment subject to rules 3701:1-67-05 and 3701:1-67-06 of the Administrative Code, shall be provided with such primary and secondary barriers as are necessary to ensure compliance with rules 3701:1-38-12 and 3701:1-38-13 of the Administrative Code.

(B) A qualified medical physicist shall design shielding or verify that the existing shielding is adequate for installation of therapy equipment.

(C) The design shall be submitted to the department prior to installation of the therapy equipment and shall contain the facility design information listed in the appendix to this rule.
