3701-1-02 Notice of regular and special meetings of the public health council.

(A) A notice of each regular and special meeting of the public health council shall be filed forthwith by the secretary of the council with the director of health, stating the time and place of each regular meeting of the council and the time, place, and purpose of each special meeting of the council. Any person may determine or obtain such information at the “Office of the Director of Health or that of the Secretary of the Council, in Columbus, Ohio, by writing to the Secretary of the Public Health Council, P.O. Box 118, Columbus, Ohio 43216” as provided in paragraph (B) of this rule, or by telephoning (614) 466-2253.

(B) Any person may obtain reasonable advance written notification in the form of a copy of the agenda of all meetings of the council at which any specific type of public business is to be discussed or may request to be placed upon a mailing list to receive a copy of the agenda for all council meetings. The secretary of the council may require persons on the mailing list established in accordance with this paragraph to pay a reasonable charge for receiving the agenda not to exceed the cost of copying and mailing.

(C) The secretary of the council shall maintain a list of news media which have requested notification, and such media shall be given at least twenty-four hours advance notice of each special meeting of the council, except in the event of an emergency requiring immediate official action. In the event of an emergency, the director of health or the secretary of the council on behalf of the members of the council calling the meeting shall notify the news media that have requested notification immediately of the time, place, and purpose of the meeting.

(D) A special meeting for the purpose of addressing a singular issue may be called upon the request of any four members of the council or upon request of the director of health.
