3701-50-01 Identification of urban and rural communities having higher infant mortality rates.

(A) For the purposes of this rule, infant mortality is defined as the death of a live-born baby before his or her first birthday. Infant mortality rates presented by the Ohio department of health are calculated using the number of infant deaths in a specific year as the numerator and the number of live births within that same year as the denominator.

(B) Urban and rural communities will be identified and reported on the Ohio department of health scorecard as described in section 3701.953 of the Revised Code --"Infant Mortality Scorecard."
