Rule 3745-273-05 | Applicability - management standards for universal waste- lamps.

 

(A) Lamps covered under Chapter 3745-273 of the Administrative Code. Chapter 3745-273 of the Administrative Coce applies to persons managing "lamps" as defined in rule 3745-273-09 of the Administrative Code, except as listed in paragraph (B) of this rule.

(B) Lamps not covered under Chapter 3745-273 of the Administrative Code. Chapter 3745-273 of the Administrative Code does not apply to persons managing the following lamps:

(1) Lamps that are not yet wastes under Chapter 3745-51 of the Administrative Code as provided in paragraph (C) of this rule.

(2) Lamps that are not hazadous waste. A lamp is a hazardous waste if it exhibits one or more of the characteristics identified in rules 3745-51-20 to 3745-51-24 of the Administrative Code.

(C) Generation of waste lamps.

(1) A used lamp becomes a waste on the date it is discarded.

(2) An unused lamp becomes a waste on the date the handler decides to discard it.
