Rule 3769-5-51 | Weight.

 

(A) With the exception of apprentice allowances, handicap races, three year old horses entered to run in races against horses four years old and upwards, and the allowance provided in paragraph (B) of this rule, no jockey shall be assigned a weight of less than one hundred eighteen pounds. For three year old horses entered to run in races against horses four years old and upwards from January first through August thirty-first, no jockey shall be assigned a weight of less than one hundred sixteen pounds.

(B) Except in handicaps, fillies two years old shall be allowed three pounds, and fillies and mares three years old and upward shall be allowed five pounds before September first, and three pounds thereafter in races where competing against horses of the opposite sex.

(C) Quarter horses, minimum scale weights shall be one hundred twenty-four pounds for two year-olds, one hundred twenty-six pounds for three year-olds, and one hundred twenty-eight pounds for four year-olds and older.
