(A) The applicant who has passed the examination as required in division (B) of section 3783.03 of the Revised Code, shall be issued a certificate of competency as provided under section 3783.04 of the Revised Code.
Only one certificate of competency shall be issued to an electrical safety inspector.
(B) The failure on the part of any registrant to renew his certificate prior to expiration shall not deprive such person of the right of renewal within the following twelve months, but the fee to be paid for the renewal of a certificate after expiration shall be increased fifty per cent. The board may waive the payment of the renewal fees of a registrant during the period when he is on active duty in connection with any branch of the armed forces of the United States. If a certificate is not renewed within one year from date of expiration, and has not been placed in elective temporary suspension pursuant to paragraph (A)(2) of rule 4101:2-93-07 of the Administrative Code, its renewal shall be allowed only by reexamination.
