4501:2-3-01 Distinctive marking for Ohio state highway patrol cars.

(A) Pursuant to section 4549.13 of the Revised Code, the distinctive markings of the Ohio state highway patrol cars, beginning with the 2003 model year vehicles, shall be as follows:

(1) The left and right front door shall be marked with the state highway patrol insignia.

(2) The car number shall appear on the front and rear.

(3) “State Trooper” shall appear on the trunk lid and each front fender.

(4) Two double reflectorized stripes shall run the length of the car on both sides.

(5) “Excellence in Service” shall appear on each rear fender.

(6) A photograph of the markings described is filed at state highway patrol general headquarters, Columbus, Ohio.

(B) Pursuant to section 4549.13 of the Revised Code, the distinctive markings of the Ohio state highway patrol cars for the 2002 model year and older vehicles, shall be as follows:

(1) The left and right front door shall be marked with the state highway patrol insignia.

(2) The car number shall appear on the front and rear.

(3) “State Trooper” shall appear on the trunk lid.

(4) Two double reflectorized stripes shall run the length of the car on both sides.

(5) A photograph of the markings described is filed at state highway patrol general headquarters, Columbus, Ohio.
