Rule 4501-53-15 | Advanced riding skills.

(A) The advanced riding skills (ARS) curriculum and sequence shall be validated by motorcycle Ohio and approved by the director and instill in the student, the knowledge, attitudes and skills necessary for the safe operation of a motorcycle on the roadway.

(B) The course curriculum and requirement shall be formalized in the motorcycle Ohio policy and procedure manual.

(C) The ARS shall have the instructor to student ratio for classroom and range validated by the motorcycle Ohio policy and procedure manual.

(D) Students shall have a valid motorcycle endorsement or a motorcycle-only license prior to participating in range instruction.

(E) Instructors and students shall use their own registered and insured motorcycles during the course. Passengers are not permitted in the ARS.

(F) Every student participating in the ARS range instruction must wear proper riding gear.

(G) Students successfully completing the ARS shall be issued a completion certificate.

(H) Upon completion of the ARS, the provider shall submit, electronically, to the department, any course paperwork as requested by the department including a properly signed course waiver, and retain on file for three years.
