Rule 4501:1-1-10 | Road test requirements for driver examination.

(A) Upon obtaining a temporary instruction permit identification card, the applicant may appear at a examination station to take a road and a maneuverability test to determine the applicant's ability to exercise ordinary and reasonable control in the operation of a motor vehicle under the supervision of an examiner. If the vehicle to be operated is a standard type four-wheel vehicle, this portion of the examination shall consist of a test of the driving skill and vehicle maneuvering, divided into two parts: a road test and a maneuverability test as prescribed by the registrar of motor vehicles. If the vehicle to be operated is classified as a motorcycle, the road test may be waived. If the applicant presents a valid, unexpired license of another state, the knowledge and road test may be waived. In such case a driver license examiner may require the road test for good cause.

(B) The applicant shall be considered to have passed the examination for a license to operate a standard type four-wheel vehicle provided the applicant does not receive a minus score in excess of twenty-five points in either part of the examination; or to have passed the examination for a license to operate a motor vehicle classified as a motorcycle, provided the applicant does not receive a minus score in excess of ten points in the test of vehicle maneuvering. The number of points to be deducted for failure to perform each skill and maneuver contained in the examination shall be as specified on the appropriate form prescribed by the registrar.

(C) All licenses issued after the complete driver license examination has been passed shall be restricted in accordance with the recommendations of the examiner or as deemed necessary by the registrar.
