Rule 4501:2-7-04 | Periodic medical examinations.

 

(A) When occupational injury leave is granted, periodic medical examinations will be conducted by a physician selected by the superintendent.

(B) The frequency of these examinations will be determined by the superintendent based upon the severity of the injury and condition of the highway patrol officer.

(C) Results of these periodic examinations will be reported to the superintendent in a timely manner and in compliance with the promulgated rules.

(D) These medical reports will include:

(1) The results of the examination.

(2) A description of the progress made by the patrol officer in recovering from the independent injury.

(3) Whether or not the independent injury continues to prevent the patrol officer from attending work.

(E) Physicians reporting to the superintendent will use the forms prescribed by the superintendent which will be supplied to the physician by the officer involved or the officer's supervisor if the officer is unable.
