(A) For persons graduating prior to July 1, 2002 the education requirements described in divisions (C)(4) and (C)(5) of section 4755.62 of the Revised Code, shall be satisfied by completion of an educational program approved by the "National Athletic Trainers Association", or as determined by the section, an equivalent program of instruction in:
(1) Anatomy;
(2) Physiology;
(3) Physiology of exercise;
(4) Applied anatomy and kinesiology;
(5) Psychology
(6) First aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation;
(7) Nutrition;
(8) Therapeutic exercise;
(9) Personal community and school health;
(10) Techniques of athletic training;
(11) Advanced techniques of athletic training; and
(12) Eight hundred hours of supervised clinical experience supervised by a certified/licensed athletic trainer over a minimum of a two-year period.
(B) To be eligible for licensure as an athletic trainer, any applicant graduating between July 1, 2002 and January 1, 2004 shall complete an approved curriculum in athletic training that includes, at a minimum thirty-six semester hours or fifty-four quarter hours or the equivalent that includes formal course work in each of the following areas:
(1) Prevention of athletic injuries/illnesses;
(2) Evaluation or athletic injuries/illnesses;
(3) First aid and emergency care;
(4) Therapeutic modalities;
(5) Therapeutic exercises/rehabilitation of athletic injuries;
(6) Administration of athletic training programs;
(7) Human anatomy;
(8) Human physiology;
(9) Exercise physiology;
(10) Kinesiology/biomechanics;
(11) Nutrition;
(12) Psychology;
(13) Personal/community health; and
(14) Eight hundred hours of clinical experience supervised by a certified/licensed athletic trainers over a minimum of a two-year period.
(C) To be eligible for licensure as an athletic trainer, any applicant graduating on or after January 1, 2004 must be a graduate of an athletic training curriculum approved by an accrediting body recognized by the athletic trainers section, which shall include the supervised clinical experience requirements specified in division (C)(5) of section 4755.62 of the Revised Code.
