(A) A certified volunteer firefighter may upgrade to a firefighter I through the completion of a firefighter I transition course, as set forth in rule 4765-11-10 of the Administrative Code.
(1) The firefighter I transition course shall be taught through a chartered program.
(2) All training and testing shall be completed in a thirty-six month period from the start date of the course.
(3) The applicant shall successfully pass the knowledge examination at the firefighter I level, as set forth in paragraph (A) of rule 4765-20-06 of the Administrative Code.
(B) Fire training hours completed may be applied toward continuing education requirements for the applicant's current fire certification level as required in rules 4765-20-13 or 4765-20-22 of the Administrative Code.
(C) An applicant who completes the requirements to transition to a firefighter I shall apply in accordance with rule 4765-20-02 of the Administrative Code.
