(A) Prior to admission into a fire instructor training program, an individual must meet all of the following requirements:
(1) Possess a current certificate to practice as a firefighter issued under section 4765.55 of the Revised Code;
(2) In the preceding seven years, have at least five years of experience as a certified firefighter;
(3) Pass a written knowledge examination approved by the executive director that demonstrates a level of knowledge in fire service training;
If an applicant is unable to pass the written examination within three attempts, the applicant must wait for a time period of six months and complete a course approved by the executive director with the advice and counsel of the committee before attempting the examination again.
(B) Prior to admission into a fire safety inspector instructor training program, an individual must meet all of the following requirements:
(1) Possess a current certificate to practice as a fire safety inspector issued under section 4765.55 of the Revised Code;
(2) In the preceding seven years, have at least five years of experience as a certified fire safety inspector;
(3) Pass a written knowledge examination approved by the executive director that demonstrates a level of knowledge in fire safety inspection;
If an applicant is unable to pass the written examination within three attempts, the applicant must wait for a time period of six months and complete a course approved by the executive director with the advice and counsel of the committee before attempting the examination again.
