4765-21-04 Renewal of a certificate to teach fire service training.

(A) The division shall make available a renewal application to each certified instructor and assistant instructor no later than sixty days prior to the expiration date of the instructor’s certificate to teach.

(B) The executive director shall renew a certified instructor certificate, issued under section 4765.55 of the Revised Code and this chapter, for any applicant who meets the following criteria:

(1) Submits a completed application on a form approved by the executive director;

(2) Continues to satisfy the requirements for a certificate to teach as set forth in this chapter;

(3) During the preceding three years has provided not less than twenty four hours of instruction of a fire service training or continuing education program and shall maintain documentation of such continuing education;

(4) Obtains six hours of continuing education related to fire service instruction and shall maintain documentation of such continuing education.

(C) The executive director shall renew an assistant fire instructor certificate to teach, issued under section 4765.55 of the Revised Code and this chapter, for any applicant who meets the following criteria:

(1) Submits a completed application on a form approved by the executive director;

(2) Continues to satisfy the requirements for a certificate to teach as set forth in this chapter;

(3) During the preceding three years has provided not less than eight hours of instruction of a fire service training or continuing education program and shall maintain documentation of such continuing education;

(4) Obtains six hours of continuing education related to fire service instruction and shall maintain documentation of such continuing education.
