4765-21-06 Qualification for fire service instructor trainers.

(A) A fire service instructor training program, outlined in rules 4765-11-15 and 4765-11-16 of the Administrative Code, shall be provided under the auspice of a chartered training program and shall be taught by a fire service instructor trainer appointed by the program coordinator of the chartered training program.

(B) A fire service instructor trainer must meet the following criteria:

(1) Holds a valid certificate to teach a fire service training program issued under rule 4765-21-03 of the Administrative Code;

(2) Has three years educational experience that includes demonstrable ability in teaching, developing lesson plans, course materials, managing classroom resources, and managing and evaluating students;

(3) Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills.

(C) The program director of a chartered program assumes responsibility to select and maintain fire service instructor trainer designations based upon documented evaluation of acceptable performance review standards.

(D) The program director of a chartered program may appoint himself or herself as a fire service instructor trainer, but must have the documented evaluation of acceptable performance review standards conducted by the program director's supervisor.
