5122-30-17 [Effective until 1/1/2012] Special treatment and safety measures.

(A) The use of special treatment and safety measures shall not be permitted in any facility, except a type 1 facility which meets all of the requirements of rules 5122-26-16 to 5122-26- 16.3 of the Administrative Code

(B) The unauthorized use of special treatment and safety measures in residential facilities shall not be permitted and is considered abuse, which must be reported to the department as a major unusual incident.

5122-30-17 [Effective 1/1/2012] Seclusion and restraint

(A) The use of seclusion, mechanical restraint, and physical restraint, including transitional hold, shall not be permitted in any facility, except a type 1 facility which meets all of the requirements of rules 5122-26-16 to 5122-26-16.2 of the Administrative Code.

(B) The use of seclusion, mechanical restraint, and physical restraint, including transitional hold, in type 2 and type 2 residential facilities shall not be permitted and must be reported to the department as a major unusual incident.
