(A) Policy statement and purpose

This policy describes the dual specialization option that exists in some masters degree programs.

(B) Policy scope

If academically appropriate to their program, a student may simultaneously pursue two specializations within a single masters degree. Students pursuing two specializations must simultaneously complete all of the requirements of both specializations, then both specializations would appear on the same transcript. Overlap is permitted as defined by each specialization, however a minimum of nine credits must be unique to each specialization.
