125.29 [Effective Until 7/1/2014] Child care services.

Notwithstanding section 125.28 of the Revised Code, the Department of Administrative Services may operate or contract for child care services in any building owned or maintained by the Ohio Building Authority (OBA), any facility owned or maintained by the Department of Administrative Services, or any other state agency if the Director of Administrative Services determines such space is available; such space shall be used to provide child care services to a group of individuals of whom at least 50 per cent are State of Ohio employees; and priority for such child care services will be given to State of Ohio employees even if it results in the displacement of non-state employees.

If the Department of Administrative Services allots space in a non-OBA controlled facility for the provision of child care services, such space may be provided without charge for rent or services. For the purpose of this section, "services" includes the provision of lighting, heating, cooling, electricity, maintenance, security systems, or any other utility type service. The Director of Administrative Services shall adopt rules governing the operation of such child care services.
