Not later than June 30, 2012, the state board of education shall select one or more methods of measuring high school graduates’ preparedness for higher education and the workforce. The measures may include, but need not be limited to, student performance on the assessments recommended under section 3301.43 of the Revised Code, the percentage of students who earn credit toward a degree from an institution of higher education while enrolled in high school, or the percentage of students who take remedial coursework upon enrollment in an institution of higher education.

The department of education annually shall include the school district’s or school building’s performance on each applicable measure on the report card issued for that district or building under section 3302.03 of the Revised Code, beginning with the report cards issued for the 2012-2013 school year. The department shall not apply the measures to the school district’s or building’s rating under division (B) of that section. Prior to selecting the measures, the state board shall consult with the partnership for continued learning and the Ohio board of regents.
