3701.931 School health and safety network established.

The director of health shall establish the school health and safety network, under which each board of health, in addition to or in concert with inspections conducted under section 3707.03 or 3707.26 of the Revised Code, shall inspect each public and nonpublic school building and associated grounds within its jurisdiction at least once each year to identify conditions dangerous to public health and safety present in or on the building or grounds. Inspections shall be conducted during regular school hours.

An inspector shall conduct inspections using forms, templates, and checklists developed by the director or other forms approved by the director.

The director, with the cooperation of each board of health, shall coordinate inspections, in a manner determined appropriate by the director, to avoid duplication of authority over a school by multiple boards of health and to ensure that each school is inspected in accordance with sections 3701.93 to 3701.936 of the Revised Code.
