5119.731 Exemption from certain inspections.

(A) Sections 3781.06 to 3781.18 and 3791.04 of the Revised Code do not apply to an adult family home for which application is made to the director of mental health for licensure as an adult care facility. Adult family homes shall not be required to submit evidence to the director that the home has been inspected by a local certified building department or the division of labor in the department of commerce or by the state fire marshal or a fire prevention officer under section 5119.71 of the Revised Code, but shall be inspected by the director to determine compliance with this section. An inspection made under this section may be made at the same time as an inspection made under section 5119.73 of the Revised Code.

(B) The director shall not license or renew the license of an adult family home unless it meets the fire protection standards established by rules adopted under section 5119.79 of the Revised Code.
