An applicant for registration under section 4729.90 of the Revised Code shall file with the state board of pharmacy an application in the form and manner prescribed in rules adopted under section 4729.94 of the Revised Code. The application shall be accompanied by an application fee of fifty dollars, which shall not be returned if the applicant fails to qualify for registration.

If the board is satisfied that the applicant meets the requirements of section 4729.90 of the Revised Code and any additional requirements established by the board and determines that the results of a criminal records check do not make the applicant ineligible, the board shall register the applicant as a registered pharmacy technician or certified pharmacy technician, as applicable.

Registration under this section is valid for the period specified by the board in rules adopted under section 4729.94 of the Revised Code. The period shall not exceed twenty-four months unless the board extends the period in the rules to adjust license renewal schedules.
