(A) For purposes of Chapter 5902-7 of the Administrative Code an except as otherwise provided, the following definitions apply:
(1) "Armed forces" has the same meaning as in section 5903.01 of the Revised Code.
(2) "Veteran" has the same meaning as in section 5903.01 of the Revised Code.
(B) Whereas all other qualifications for employment are equal, hiring preference shall be given to an applicant who is a veteran of the armed forces.
