A pay supplement of five percent may be granted an employee assigned to an educational position, as listed in division 124.181(L) of the Revised Code, who is performing as a master teacher. Such performance is to be determined by the director as evidenced by the employee's official position description, the employee's appointing authority, and a formal consensus among the teacher's working associates and supervisor(s). A master teacher is that exceptional teacher in the school who, because of extended experience or a unique post-graduate education, or both, acts as the non-supervisory lead teacher in the school. The master teacher may advise supervisors, counsel associates, or provide informal direction to an educational program.
