Rule 311-1-07 | Bike patrol uniform.

 

The bike patrol uniform shall consist, at a minimum, of the following items of clothing and uniform items:

(A) Uniform shirt:

(1) Personnel assigned to bike patrol shall wear a bike patrol shirt conforming to the specifications of rule 311-1-07.1 of the Administrative Code.

(2) The sheriff has discretion to determine which sleeve-length shall be worn, based on the sheriff's evaluation of weather and duty conditions, and all deputies shall conform to the sheriff's determination;

(3) The word "SHERIFF" in all capital letters must be embroidered on the front of the shirt or an embroidered patch attached to the front of the shirt.

(B) Uniform trousers or shorts:

(1) Personnel assigned to bike patrol shall wear bike patrol trousers or shorts in the style of cargo trousers or shorts;

(2) The sheriff has discretion to determine whether shorts or trousers shall be worn, based on the sheriff's evaluation of weather and duty conditions, and all deputies shall conform to the sheriff's determination;

(C) Padded liner worn under the uniform trousers or shorts;

(D) A bicycle helmet conforming to the specifications of rule 311-1-07.3 of the Administrative Code;

(E) Footwear conforming to the specifications of rule 311-1-07.3 or 311-1-13 of the Administrative Code; and

(F) All mandatory uniform items specified in rules 311-1-14 to 311-1-16 of the Administrative Code.
