Rule 3745-81-17 | Treatment techniques.

 

(A) This rule establishes treatment techniques in lieu of maximum contaminant levels for specified contaminants.

(B) Treatment techniques for acrylamide and epichlorohydrin. Each public water system utilizing polymers containing acrylamide or epichlorohydrin shall certify annually in writing to the director that when polymers containing acrylamide or epichlorohydrin are used in the drinking water system, the combination (or product) of dose and monomer level does not exceed either of the levels specified as follows:

Acrylamide monomer level of 0.05 per cent in polymers added to water at 1 part per million (or equivalent).

Epichlorohydrin monomer level of 0.01 per cent in polymers added to water at 20 parts per million (or equivalent).

Certifications can rely on manufacturers or third parties.
