Rule 4765-7-18 | Fire and emergency services instructor trainers.

 

(A) Fire and emergency services instructor courses, as set forth in this chapter of the Administrative Code, shall be provided under the auspices of an accredited EMS or chartered fire training program and shall be taught by a fire and emergency services instructor II trainer appointed by the program director in accordance with this rule.

(B) The program director shall ensure that the fire and emergency services instructor II meets all of the following:

(1) Holds a current and valid certificate to teach as a fire and emergency services instructor II, that is in good standing, issued under Chapter 4765-18 or 4765-21 of the Administrative Code;

(2) Has held a valid certificate to teach as a fire and emergency services instructor II, that is in good standing, for at least three years;

(3) Has at least three years of other educational experience that includes demonstrable ability in teaching, developing lesson plans and course materials, managing classroom resources, and managing and evaluating students;

(4) Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills;

(5) Any additional program director requirements; and

(6) Has completed an instructor trainer orientation by the program director.

(C) The program director assumes responsibility to select and maintain instructor trainers based upon documented evaluation of acceptable performance review.

(D) The program director who is also an instructor trainer shall have documented evaluation of acceptable performance review conducted by the program director's supervisor.

(E) The accredited program shall notify the division, in writing, whenever there is any change in instructor trainers.

(F) The accredited program shall maintain written or electronic documentation of compliance with this rule.
