Rule 3750-25-20 | Reportable quantities for oil including crude oil.

 

(A) This rule shall set forth the reportable quantities for the discharge and release of oil and crude oil from a facility as follows:

(1) The reportable quantity for the discharge of oil including crude oil into or upon navigable waters is any amount which causes a film or sheen upon, or discoloration of the surface of the waters, or causes a sludge or emulsion to be deposited beneath the surface of the waters.

(2) Except as provided in paragraph (A)(3) of this rule, the reportable quantity for the release of oil into the environment, excluding navigable waters, is an amount of twenty-five gallons or more.

(3) The reportable quantity for the release of crude oil from an oil and gas extraction storage facility into the environment, excluding navigable waters, is an amount of two hundred ten gallons (five barrels) or more. As used in this paragraph, a barrel is equal to forty-two gallons.
