Section 3333.0420

 
Section 3333.0420 is not yet in effect. It takes effect September 30, 2025.

(A) As used in this section:

(1) "Online program manager" means an entity that is not an institution of higher education as defined under "The Higher Education Act of 1965," 20 U.S.C. 1001 that enters into an agreement with a state institution of higher education to provide marketing and recruitment services and at least one additional service, including course design, technology, or faculty training, to support an accredited online degree program.

(2) "State institution of higher education" has the same meaning as in section 3345.011 of the Revised Code.

(B) If a state institution of higher education enters into a contract with an online program manager, the institution shall ensure the contract is in compliance with relevant program standards and requirements.

(C) A state institution of higher education that enters into a contract with an online program manager shall post on each online degree program web site it maintains that it utilizes an online program manager for services. The institution shall require the online program manager to identify itself when providing services to students.

(D) A state institution of higher education shall not permit an online program manager to control, make decisions regarding, administer, or disburse student financial aid.
