The Legislative Service Commission staff updates the Revised Code on an ongoing basis, as it completes its act review of enacted legislation. Updates may be slower during some times of the year, depending on the volume of enacted legislation.

Section 4713.641 | Complaints.

 

Any individual may file a complaint with the state cosmetology and barber board alleging that an individual, salon, barber shop, school, or tanning facility has violated this chapter or Chapter 4709. of the Revised Code or rules adopted under either chapter. Upon receiving a complaint, the board shall initiate a preliminary investigation to determine whether it is probable that a violation was committed. If the board determines after preliminary investigation that it is not probable that a violation was committed, the board shall notify the individual who filed the complaint of the board's findings and that the board will not pursue formal action in the matter. If the board determines after a preliminary investigation that it is probable that a violation was committed, the board may proceed against the individual, salon, barber shop, school, or tanning facility pursuant to the board's authority under section 4709.13 or 4713.64 of the Revised Code and in accordance with the hearing and notice requirements prescribed in Chapter 119. of the Revised Code.
