Every hospital agency as defined in section 140.01 of the Revised Code, shall offer a uterine cytologic examination for cancer to every female in-patient eighteen years or age or over unless contrary orders are given by the attending physician or unless the examination has been performed within the preceding year. Any female in-patient may refuse such examination. The hospital agency shall in all cases maintain records to show the results of the examination, or that the examination was not applicable or was refused.
