Within ten days after receiving a report of the conviction of any nonresident for a violation of a state law or local ordinance or resolution relating to traffic control, other than parking violations, committed in a commercial motor vehicle, the registrar of motor vehicles shall notify the driver licensing authority in the jurisdiction in which the person resides and the driver licensing authority that issued the nonresident's commercial driver's license, if different from the state of residence.
