The Legislative Service Commission staff updates the Revised Code on an ongoing basis, as it completes its act review of enacted legislation. Updates may be slower during some times of the year, depending on the volume of enacted legislation.

Section 5101.806 | TANF spending plan.

 

(A) The department of job and family services shall prepare and submit to the governor not later than the first day of November in each even-numbered year a TANF spending plan describing the anticipated spending of temporary assistance for needy families block grant funds for the upcoming state fiscal biennium. The report shall be prepared in such a manner as to facilitate the inclusion of the information contained in the report in the governor's budget in accordance with division (D)(7) of section 107.03 of the Revised Code.

(B)(1) Not later than sixty days after the end of the first state fiscal year of a fiscal biennium, the department shall prepare and submit an updated TANF spending plan to the chairperson of a standing committee of the house of representatives designated by the speaker of the house of representatives, the chairperson of a standing committee of the senate designated by the president of the senate, and the minority leaders of both the house of representatives and the senate. The updated TANF spending plan shall, at a minimum, include both of the following:

(a) The total amount of temporary assistance for needy families block grant funds distributed during the first fiscal year of the fiscal biennium.

(b) An updated estimate of the total amount of temporary assistance for needy families block grant funds that will be distributed during the second fiscal year of the fiscal biennium.

(2) A chairperson of a standing committee designated by the speaker of the house of representatives or president of the senate under division (B)(1) of this section may call the director of job and family services to testify before the committee regarding the TANF spending plan.
